Dr. Mario Imola | Medical Director
Specializing in Facial Plastic Surgery, Dr. Mario Imola has extensive training and surgical experience. He obtained both a medical degree (MD, 1987) and dental degree (DDS, 1983) from the University of Toronto, and completed four years of medical residency in head and neck surgery followed by a two-year fellowship in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Toronto, and in Switzerland. Dr. Imola is double Board Certified by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Academy of Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery, and holds fellowships in the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC) and the American College of Surgeons (FACS).

Dr. David Kowalczyk
Dr. David Kowalczyk is a board-certified, facial plastic surgeon who completed medical school at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, VA, where he served as a member of the highly selective Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. During his residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, Dr. Kowalczyk learned to manage complex head and neck diseases, authored numerous medical publications, and earned a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA). Prior to furthering his interest in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the head and neck, Dr. Kowalczyk spent time in private practice as a general ENT performing a wide range of procedures. He then continued on to a prestigious fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery with Dr. Dean M. Toriumi, the world’s top rhinoplasty expert. Dr. Kowalczyk performs a wide range of cosmetic and reconstructive procedures, but his passion is functional and cosmetic rhinoplasty given his extensive training. At Aesthetics by Design, Dr. Kowalczyk’s primary goal is to provide his patients with meticulous, honest, and long-term care through safely implementing the newest procedures and technologies available in facial plastic surgery. Outside of work, Dr. Kowalczyk enjoys cycling, traveling, and spending time with his family. He and his wife, Sarah Ann, have two boys, a dog, and a cat, and are eager to explore all that Colorado has to offer while giving back to the community.

LISA ADAMs | Business Manager & Director of Aesthetics by Design
Lisa started working with Dr. Imola at Colorado Facial Plastic Surgery in 2013 as the Clinical Director and Patient Coordinator. Lisa has a degree in Business Administration and has worked in healthcare for over 15 years. She loves engaging with patients and making them feel welcome from the moment they step into the clinic. Lisa goes above and beyond for every single patient and truly loves her job. She is married with three boys, and has a very loveable golden retriever named Guinness who keeps her busy when she’s not at work!
Sarah Rutherford | Paramedical Aesthetician
Sarah Rutherford is a well-respected veteran in the skin care industry, Rutherford began her aesthetics career in Indianapolis as an apprentice at a large day spa under the tutelage of French aestheticians. Since relocating to Colorado, she successfully owned and operated her own skin care practice for ten years focusing on providing attentive, custom client care. Among her proficient skills and certifications, she counts Microdermabrasion, Dermaplaning, CO2 Laser Resurfacing, lunchtime as well as more intense Chemical Peels, product knowledge, Laser Hair Removal, Facial Massage, and Skin Analysis. Now, after over fourteen years in the industry, she brings her holistic approach to skin wellness and full medical aesthetic services to Aesthetics by Design.
Lisa Domenico | ParaMedical Aesthetician
Lisa is a Western girl through and through. Born in New Mexico and raised in Littleton, CO, she became interested in the science and effects of aging on the skin. After graduating from the Stacey James Institute in Parker, Colorado, she became a mentoree of Beryl Reker and was subsequently hired on as a paramedical aesthetician at Aesthetics by Design. She is fully qualified in Chemical Peels, Coolsculpting, Microdermabrasion, HydraFacial, Dermaplane, Laser Hair Removal, FotoFacials, Fractora, CO2 Laser Resurfacing and FemTouch. Her genuine interest and compassion for her patients motivates Lisa to continually deliver the utmost in client care each day. After analyzing the skin and listening to the patient, she can assimilate their needs and formulate a plan that is effective, fits their budget and addresses their concerns. She believes that investing in your skin today will deliver dividends in self-confidence in the future.
Sheri Dean, DDS | Certified Injectionist
Originally from Santa Fe, NM, Sheri received her BS in Biology from the New Mexico State University and her DDS from the University of Colorado. After completing her general practice residency program at the West LA VA Hospital, Sheri and her husband Mark traveled the world for a year and found their way back in Colorado where they opened their own practice. After retiring from her cosmetic dental practice, which she ran and operated for many years, she has transitioned into facial aesthetics with COFPS. Having been trained by the best, Patricia Ritter, NP, Sheri is happy to join the ABD team with years of experience and expertise.
